Hiya Monday! (& happy love day)

Today is Valentines day. Today is a day to celebrate love. My bf and I don't go all out today. We do not put too much pressure on this day, we do not expect much from each other. Our days are already filled with love and care, we don't need to spend money and expect much from each other on this particular day. But I still love this day. Not because I am some mushy lovey dovey person but because life is hard and any day we can pause and take time to appreciate the people who love and care about us, is a day I'ma take advantage of. Of course, we should do this on more days than one, but this day asks you to take a step back and think about who you love and who loves you back. Friends, family, partners. It's a day to celebrate the good in life, and right now we need that more than ever.

Here are some old and some new poems about love. Dedicated to my bae. I am blessed to have him. Growing up I knew love as fear and trauma. In my past relationship I knew love as toxic, lies, and manipulation. But this, what I have now, is pure and honest and true. I am blessed and I don't take his presence in my life for granted.
